Clover & Bee with O&O Pizza

Our review today is of two sister restaurants from the owners of Olive & Oak in Webster Groves (see our previous review).

My visit to Clover & Bee came after a morning of browsing through all of the great shops in Webster, and we finally decided we needed some food.  I had been to Clover & Bee before, but not for breakfast or lunch which they specialize in.   As it was early afternoon, we decided to have a bite with a glass of wine.   My friend ordered the Three Cheese Cauliflower Soup and the Brussels Sprouts Salad (which with the apples, dried cherries, white cheddar and candied pecans made for a beautiful presentation).   I had to taste the soup which was really wonderful and definitely something I will order next time I go back.   I opted for the Avocado Toast and the beautiful presentation went right along with the great taste.  This avocado toast was a little different as it was on sourdough bread, had peas and feta, and the beautiful radish slice on top which not only made for a great presentation but added some nice crunch as well.   As it was a little later in the day I did not have the eggs on top, but either way this menu item was a winner.  I already have plans to return here in a couple weeks as there are many other items I would love to try!

Next door to Clover & Bee is their sister restaurant, O&O Pizza.  We went here with friends for a group birthday celebration.  O&O is in the space that housed the original Olive & Oak Restaurant, which moved into a larger space right down the street.   My assumption is with the limited or no indoor dining restrictions, and people loving good take-out food, that the pizza concept came about.   The restaurant opens after the Clover & Bee closes for the day.   We decided to eat outdoors on this lovely evening, however the inside of this restaurant is beautiful and we always enjoyed it when it was Olive & Oak.

We started with cocktails which everyone ordered a different type and all were original and delicious.   Then we had the appetizer which consisted of 3 components all of which were good but honestly the pizza stole the show.  We tried 2 - the Prosciutto (prosciutto, burrata, butternut squash and fig honey), as well as the OG Pepperoni Pizza (tomato sauce, Fior di Latte, Pecorino, Ezzo’s Pepperoni, Hot Honey & Calabrian Chile).   I have to say when they first brought them out we thought they were burnt.   But we were definitely wrong.   The crust is crispy thin which holds the ingredients well, and the honey on both, as well as the chile on the pepperoni gave each pizza their own style and taste.   These pizzas were fantastic!

This restaurant also has pastas, house made desserts, lots of original cocktails, and many other items that we will try the next time we go - or maybe we will just get the pizza again.  But either way we will be back.
