The Lucky Accomplice

In our usual style, we went out for our Valentine’s dinner ahead of the actual date, and on an off night for restaurants.   Our pick for this celebration was The Lucky Accomplice.   We have had this on our list for quite a while and so glad we finally made it there.   Creatively crafted small plates and cocktails are the perfect combination for us.

We tried 3 small plates which we shared.  The first was the Glazed Squash where the presentation alone made your mouth water.  We accompanied this with their inhouse focaccia bread which is almost a meal in itself.  Our 2nd dish was the Tagliatelle which was recommended by others.  This was the favorite for Tom with the tender pasta, chicken sausage and the light dill sauce.  Our third dish, and Laura’s favorite, was the Arctic Char.   We ordered this dish not knowing what to expect.   The presentation and pairing of the poached char with the warm cream sauce and roe was one of the prettiest and best dishes we have had.

We paired these dishes with their unique cocktails.  None disappointed.  Our choices were the Sunday Driver, Turning Red, Pre-Pear for Spring, and There will be Blood Orange.  We finished off the evening with the Espress Yourself martinis and the Lil John dessert.

The space has a great bar, which we sat at of course, cute booths for more intimate dining and high and low top tables.   If you go early you can get a seat at the bar, however for later diners we would recommend getting reservations.   With the changing menu, there may be new items to try, and some favorites to repeat, but all will be satisfying and fun.  Enjoy!
