Olive and Oak
We have been to Olive & Oak several times. The food is always spectacular, the service impeccable, and they have great cocktails. On this occasion we were given a private “cocktail experience” as a Christmas gift. We had reserved seats at the bar, and our mixologist was Jeremy. We chatted about what we liked to drink, what we didn’t like, if we made cocktails at home, etc. He then created some intriguing drinks from this conversation - one with gin, one with bourbon, and one showing us the difference of having a aperitif on the rocks and then straight.
During the evening we also had some of their fabulous appetizers and side dishes. While everything was amazing, our favorites were the venison carpaccio and the charred carrots.
We finished off the night with 3 espresso martinis and a butterscotch pot of creme. And Jeremy told the story of when making the espresso martinis - if they are garnished with 3 beans it means stay a while and enjoy your drink, however if there is only 1 bean is means please finish your drink and leave. We were glad we had 3 in our drink.
Thank you Olive & Oak for a fun evening. You know we will be back, probably to sit at the bar where we can chat with the bartenders.
