Timothy’s The Restaurant

The pick for our New Year’s “Eve Eve” dinner this year was Timothy’s Restaurant in Creve Coeur.  We were excited to try this as we are always looking for independent restaurants in our area.  Timothy’s space is in the previous Olive Street Cafe location (a wonderful place for breakfast which we loved and we hope that it will open again somewhere), however Timothy’s did a remarkable job of totally transforming the inside space.   The atmosphere is warm and chic, with bar seating as well as a spacious dining room. There is also a patio which they stated they may enclose in the future allowing for 4 season seating.

We came early, sat at the bar, and had their Pour-Fections Old Fashion and Escargot for starters.  Escargot is not an item on many menus so we had to give it a try.   Eight pieces of escargot in a garlic butter sauce were nicely prepared and a great start to the evening.  The Old Fashioned with its fennel-apple-spice simple syrup is definitely something we will have again.

When we were seated at our table, a knowledgeable server talked us through the specials and answered what questions we had.  We chose a bottle of Quilted Wine red blend which paired nicely with our dishes.  Although there were many items we wanted to try, we settled on 2 dishes - the Filet of Sirloin and the New Zealand Lamb Chops.   The sirloin was cooked to perfection and served with asparagus in a lobster hollandaise, and garlic mashed potatoes.  Everything paired nicely and made for a wonderful dish.  The New Zealand Lamb Chops were seared and served medium rare, along with carrots and fried potatoes.   We are not sure how the carrots were prepared but the simplicity of them was fabulous and paired nicely with the chops.   We have to say though the chimichurri was the star of the dish and really brought all the components together.   This dish was presented well, tasted amazing and is definitely a dish to try.

There were so many other items on the menu we would love to try next time - Grilled Salmon, Scallops, Truffle Mac ’N Cheese, Lobster Pot Pie, and The Timothy’s Burger are just a few items worth mentioning.   They have a happy hour 4-6 Th-S which has food and drink specials.  We know we will be back for this as well.  You can find more information on their website https://www.timothysstl.com.

Congratulations to the team at Timothy’s and we look forward to watching your success grow.
